User talk:Mattk
Hello and welcome to Wikipedia!
Here are some tips to help you get started:
- If you haven't already, please add your name to the new user log to let others know a little about yourself.
- Read the article describing how to edit a page and feel free to experiment in the Sandbox.
- When editing pages, use the preview button before submitting and try to fill in the summary box for every edit.
- Eventually, read the Manual of Style and Policies and Guidelines.
- If you need help, post a question in the Newcomers' Village Pump or ask me on my talk page.
- Explore, be bold in editing pages, and, most importantly, have fun!
Good luck!

P.S. One last helpful hint. To sign your posts like I did above (on talk pages, for example) use the '~' symbol. To insert just your name, type ~~~ (3 tildes), or, to insert your name and timestamp, use ~~~~ (4 tildes).
A "fan of trivia", eh? Careful, now, nothing here is trivia, everything here was written by some serious human being who supposedly wasn't being paid to write it and thought it was worth writing!!
I enjoyed watching TV coverage of the Olympics in Sydney, especially the marathons. My current interest in that area is working out how to group 40-odd local authority areas in meaningful subcategories for the Zeal States & Territories path here: http://www.zeal.com/category/preview.jhtml?cid=10148967 - neither trivia nor general knowledge, really, so I won't pester you to help!

Collingwood (suburb) and neutral point of view
[edit]Dear Matt,
I really appreciated you adding a sentence about Collingwood the suburb.
I would like to see more integration between the football team, and the suburb. I do not think the second sentence (or half-sentence): "Many jokes..." is conducive to a 'neutral point of view' on Wikipedia.
Do you mind if I edit thus so it's more consistent with that value?
There's a lot about working-class Collingwood and John Wren, I believe, who lived there.
Sincerely,

Unreferenced BLPs
[edit]Hello Mattk! Thank you for your contributions. I am a bot alerting you that 2 of the articles that you created are tagged as Unreferenced Biographies of Living Persons. The biographies of living persons policy requires that all personal or potentially controversial information be sourced. In addition, to insure verifiability, all biographies should be based on reliable sources. if you were to bring these articles up to standards, it would greatly help us with the current 3 article backlog. Once the articles are adequately referenced, please remove the {{unreferencedBLP}} tag. Here is the list:
- Peter Dignan (rower) - Find sources: Google (books · news · scholar · free images · WP refs) · FENS · JSTOR · TWL
- Christina Surer - Find sources: Google (books · news · scholar · free images · WP refs) · FENS · JSTOR · TWL
